Inbound Logistics magazine has selected NFI, a leading supply chain company headquartered in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, as a Green Supply Chain Partner for 2014.

In the special June “Lean and Green” issue of Inbound Logistics, NFI is profiled as a leading company that shippers can rely on when pursuing a sustainable supply chain. Inbound Logistics editors compile the G75 list annually by identifying companies with a strong commitment to sustainability that demonstrate measureable progress in helping reduce their environmental impact.

NFI ranks in the top 20 percent of SmartWay partners for overall environmental performance, and the EPA awarded NFI the SmartWay Excellence Award three times in recognition of its sustainability efforts. NFI runs natural gas fleets in California and Texas, with a Pennsylvania fleet launching soon. Aerodynamics, AirTabs, trailer skirts, and speed limiters are also used to decrease fuel usage.

With social responsibility as one of six core company values, NFI continues to invest in sustainability efforts. “Our sustainability policies are designed to reduce our carbon footprint,” says Sid Brown, CEO. “Limiting emissions, making use of solar energy, recycling, and building to LEED standards are our guiding principles as we move forward and conduct business.”
