Diversity & Inclusion

Our Pledge

At NFI, we believe diversity and inclusion are critical in stimulating innovation, engagement, and collaboration. We are devoted to cultivating an environment that values and respects all individuals, offers equal access to opportunities, and embraces our individuality, regardless of race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, or other diverse backgrounds.

Our CEO, Sid Brown, along with other NFI executive leaders, joined over 2,000 CEOs across the country in signing the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion pledge in 2022. This promise emphasizes our dedication to creating an inclusive organization for our people, customers, and the communities we serve. More recently, the realignment of our Executive D&I Council furthers our company’s commitment to fostering an atmosphere that welcomes broad perspectives and amplifies our impact.

Strategic Focus

Diversity and Inclusion is a crucial part of our organizational strategy and values as it guides our culture and propels our business. Our D&I strategy centers around the following focus areas:

Belonging At NFI

NFI offers various Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) designed to celebrate and support the unique characteristics, backgrounds, and interests of our team members. ERGs are voluntary and employee-led groups that contribute to the success and advancement of our company. These NFI-sponsored groups promote employee engagement, educate through programs and events, and strengthen and amplify the voices of different groups within our organization.

Featured Awards

NFI is honored to have been acknowledged as a preferred employer in various capacities. Although recognition is not our motivation, we appreciate these acknowledgments and strive to be our best for our employees. These awards are a testament to our progress thus far, and we are motivated to continue making NFI a more inclusive organization.

Committed to Progress

Sid Brown

“At NFI, we strive to be a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees and customers feel appreciated, heard, and accepted. With new and growing Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), the progress of our Diversity and Inclusion Council, and leadership recently joining the CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion, NFI’s D&I journey is constantly evolving.”

Kristie Maciolek Small

“At NFI, we believe creating a truly inclusive workplace is the right thing to do and is essential to our success. By working together to create an inclusive environment, we can unlock the full potential of our diverse workforce and achieve our collective goals. As our organization moves forward, we will continue to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion at every level and invite everyone to join us in this journey toward a better future.”

Baseemah Scott
Diversity & Inclusion Partner,
ERG Coordinator

“As a 20-year veteran of the USAF, I selected NFI for my Hiring Our Heroes fellowship and accepted a permanent position. NFI’s values closely align with those of the military, as they prioritize taking care of their people. I strive to align my work with these values by fulfilling our overall commitment to cultivating an inclusive culture and serving as our ERG coordinator. These efforts help provide a safe space for underrepresented communities to discuss difficult topics and increase cultural awareness.”

Nancy Stefanowicz
D&I Council Executive Sponsor

“We take great pride in our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and believe that providing development opportunities for all our employees sets us apart. Our Employee Resource Groups, Diversity and Inclusion Council, enhanced benefits plans, and core values of integrity and social responsibility are all part of our dedication to creating a workplace where every employee is valued and treated with respect.”

Harsh Patel
Sr. Supply Chain Engineer

“A truly diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace cannot be created until the lens of “professionalism” is expanded to capture the unique cultures and lived experiences that influence who we are and how we work. I’m happy to be part of an organization that supports this belief and values the varying perspectives of its employees, customers, and community members.”
