This past year, NFI celebrated its 85th year in business. From acquisitions to new ventures, NFI continues to invest in growing its capabilities and expertise. Here are some highlights from this historic year.
NFI kicked off the year announcing the acquisition of Canadian 3PL, Dominion Warehousing & Distribution. The acquisition expanded NFI’s North American service offerings and its expertise in the food, beverage, consumer products, specialty chemicals, appliance, and electronic industries.
It was a year of acquisitions for NFI as it acquired CalCartage later in the year. CalCartage is a premier U.S. port drayage provider and the acquisition expanded NFI’s capabilities in port drayage, transloading, deconsolidation, customs examination, and warehousing. The expansion of warehousing also brought NFI’s square footage to an all time high of 41.5 million square feet across North America.
NFI has a history of developing world-class facilities for customers such as Subaru of America, Express Scripts, and QPSI. This year, Chelten House, a leading premium food manufacturer and distributor selected NFI to develop a built-to-suit facility where Chelten House will establish its new corporate office and industrial operations facility.
Wreaths Across America (WAA) selected NFI as the logistics partner to carry out its mission of placing veterans’ wreaths on every marker at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 1,300 military cemeteries nationwide. With the help of NFI’s brokerage and distribution teams, more than 1.6 million wreaths were laid to honor United States veterans this holiday season.
