NFI, a leading supply chain company headquartered in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is pleased to announce that Ike Brown, Vice-Chairman and President, NFI Intermodal, will be speaking on the Natural Gas, Technology & Innovation panel at the 2014 RILA Retail Supply Chain Conference.
As an award-winning EPA Smartway Transport Partner, NFI takes pride in its innovative sustainability efforts. With transportation and warehousing operations across North America, NFI has implemented numerous practices to reduce NFI’s environmental impact, one of which is operating fleets fueled by natural gas. Brown has led the company in converting existing fleets to natural gas and collaborating with customers to enhance their sustainability efforts.
With members from retailers and solution providers, the panel consists of early adopters of LNG/CNG trucks. The Retail Supply Chain Conference program explains that the panelists, “will share their experiences – positive and negative – in the early stages of this emerging technology.”
Natural gas holds the promise of becoming the next important clean fuel, drastically lowering fuel costs and decreasing CO2 emissions for the transportation industry. NFI runs dedicated fleets of natural gas trucks and are conducting pilot programs to test the feasibility of the solution in specific regions.
The panel discussion will be held from 10:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25th in room 28 C-E of the San Diego Convention Center and is open to all RILA Retail Supply Chain Conference attendees.
