The 2015 edition of NJBIZ Top 100 Privately Held Companies features manufacturers, IT firms, supermarket owners, and more. NFI ranks 12th out of the top 100, number one for Camden County, and is the highest ranked transportation and warehousing provider on the list.

As a privately held company, NFI is able to offer customers flexibility that isn’t possible with public business partners. “We believe that (with) what we do and the services we provide, we’re able to do them in a cost-effective manner because we’re nimble,” Sid Brown, CEO, says in the feature article with NJBIZ. Sid, along with his brothers, Ike and Jeff Brown, are the third generation of family ownership at NFI. He also credits NFI’s location in the Northeast corridor as an important factor for its success as a supply chain company.
Out of NFI’s 190+ transportation and warehousing facilities, 20 of them are based in NJ, employing about 850 people in the state. The company was founded in Vineland, NJ in 1932 as a regional trucking company. Today, NFI has expanded its footprint across North America, with operations throughout the U.S. and in Canada, and offers supply chain services globally. NFI’s service offerings include dedicated transportation, warehousing, intermodal, brokerage, transportation management, global, and real estate services.
