Michael Landsburg, Chief Development Officer of Real Estate at NFI, will speak at the Philadelphia Industrial & Logistics Summit on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. The panel session titled, “Location & Logistics,” will discuss the importance of location, the impact of e-commerce, and the influence of new technology on warehouse design within the Philadelphia area.
As an operator and manager of one of the largest distribution and transportation networks in North America, NFI provides customers with a unique perspective as a real estate developer. In addition to development, the company offers customized and flexible real estate solutions including, but not limited to, leasing, transportation analysis, incentives procurement, and LEED certification.
As the Philadelphia region continues to evolve as an essential logistics hub, NFI continues to grow its real estate presence in the area. NFI operates over 6.8 million sq. ft. in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with campus settings based in Florence, N.J. and the Lehigh Valley, allowing customers to benefit from shared assets and resources. NFI’s facilities include automated e-commerce fulfillment centers, crossdocks, multi-temperature distribution centers, food-grade warehouses, and more.
“The growth of e-commerce has undoubtedly been a driving force within the Philadelphia industrial real estate market,” said Landsburg. “Demand for urban warehouse space continues to increase as the desire for last-mile distribution space grows. However, the same valued service can be provided to consumers from a neighboring location close to Philadelphia. Being outside the city limits provides better access to highways for transportation and creates cost-savings because there are more economical project costs to build in these surrounding locations such as South Jersey or the Lehigh Valley.”
As one of the oldest and largest privately-held 3PLs in North America, NFI offers extensive experience providing supply chain solutions across a variety of sectors spanning food and beverage, retail, consumer packaged goods, and manufacturing. In addition to real estate, the company’s integrated suite of services includes dedicated transportation, distribution, transportation management, brokerage, port drayage, intermodal, global logistics, and real estate.
