Leading supply chain solutions provider, NFI, was recently ranked the fourth largest family business in Greater Philadelphia by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Companies were ranked according to number of employees, as well as revenue. A conference took place on Thursday, October 4 at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia to celebrate the importance of family-owned businesses to the local economy and to present awards to those recognized on the list.
Founded in 1932, NFI is currently headed by the third-generation brothers Sid, Jeff, and Ike Brown. With over 10,000 employees throughout North America, NFI employs more than 1,800 individuals in Greater Philadelphia across many areas of the company, including operations, engineering, sales, and IT. NFI’s dedicated fleet is operated by over 2,500 company drivers, while more than 5,500 material handlers, forklift operators, selectors, and other warehouse employees support its 41.5 million square feet of distribution space. With plans of continued growth, NFI is currently building its new corporate headquarters on the Camden Waterfront and plans to move in 2019.
