NFI, a top supply chain solutions provider, was recently named in the Logistics Management 2020 list of Top 50 Trucking Companies. Published in the April issue, the annual compilation ranks the top 50 less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) carriers by 2019 revenue, naming NFI 23rd in the TL category.
Founded in 1932, NFI operates a dedicated fleet consisting of more than 3,000 tractors and 12,500 trailers throughout North America, operated by 2,700 company drivers and leveraging partnerships with 400 owner operators. NFI’s acquisition of G&P Trucking Company in 2019 expanded both NFI’s asset and non-asset transportation services, as well as its southeast footprint, adding 370 tractors and 3,000 trailers to NFI’s fleet. The company’s dedicated capabilities span dry, refrigerated, TL, and LTL with specialized solutions including tankers, flatbeds, and conestogas. With an average tractor age of less than three years, NFI’s fleet is equipped with the latest technology to enhance safety and performance, including lane departure detection, tire pressure monitoring systems, collision avoidance, aerodynamic components, and artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance.
With a focus on innovation and sustainability, NFI partners with industry-leading manufacturers as an early adopter of electric vehicles in California. Today, the company operates 10 electric trucks and has implemented its own charging infrastructure with plans to add additional electric vehicles to its fleet this year. Recognized for its sustainability efforts, NFI is also a four-time award-winning EPA SmartWay Partner and was named a SmartWay High Performer twice.
