NFI, a leading full service third party supply chain solutions provider, announced today it has been selected by Food Logistics magazine as a Top 100 3PL & Cold Storage Provider for 2012.
Food Logistics selected NFI for the prestigious award because NFI delivers cold storage services that utilize more than 200 refrigerated trailers and over 100,000 square feet of refrigerated warehouse space. These assets provide NFI customers with ambient and temperature-controlled storage that can store and transport anything from fresh produce, ice cold beverages, and frozen items like ice cream.
To further meet the needs of NFI customers, NFI utilizes intermodal refrigerated containers. These containers can keep products refrigerated or frozen to temperatures that reach -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, refrigerated containers are capable of being double stacked for rail car service and stacked three high for loaded terminal operations. These capabilities ensure that NFI customers can feel secure their refrigerated products are delivered fresh and on time. For added security, every NFI refrigerated container comes equipped with an alarm to monitor high value cargo inside refrigerated shipments. These services are critical for companies in the food and beverage industry, ranging from food producers and manufacturers to retail grocers.
“The companies on this year’s list offer tremendous value to their customers in the food and beverage sector, starting with their understanding of the requirements and demands unique to this space,” commented Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief at Food Logistics.
“For one, food and beverage supply chains operate in a highly regulated environment where safe and secure transportation and warehousing of the product, which oftentimes involves temperature-controlled facilities and equipment, is paramount. In addition, the constant introduction of new products coupled with increased consumer demand for more fresh produce raises the stakes even higher,” added Sowinski.
NFI understands the challenges that consumers demand. In an effort to sustain profitability and deliver high quality service, NFI has mastered customized, responsive, and scalable solutions to meet all of NFI customers’ needs. NFI’s logistics solutions maximize operational efficiencies, including managing freight fulfillment and taking effective control of customers’ supply chain needs.
