From farm to fork, maintaining food safety is essential to protecting consumers and preserving product quality. Every step of the supply chain—from the raw product to manufacturing and packaging to storage and distribution—matters. For food and beverage companies, partnering with a logistics provider that prioritizes food safety is not just a best practice; it’s a requirement.

Certified and Compliant Operations

All of NFI’s food-grade sites are FDA registered and hold the following certifications, all of which are aligned with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) framework:

  • SQF (Safe Quality Food, a leading global food safety and quality certification and management system)
  • AIB International (Certification focusing on Food Safety and quality across the entire supply chain GMP, HACCP and GSFI standards)
  • ASI Food Safety (accredited by ANSI, the American National Standards Institute)

Each warehouse is certified individually to meet customer-specific requirements, allowing NFI to serve brands that demand the highest level of food safety and security. Combined with experience handling USDA, USDC, and NOAA seafood inspection programs and organic products, these certifications ensure consistent, compliant, and safe operations across all facilities.

SQF Excellence and Audits

SQF (Safe Quality Food) is a food safety standard recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). It is one of the most rigorous food safety standards, providing independent verification that products are produced, prepared, and handled according to the highest standards.

Each facility undergoes annual, announced and unannounced audits covering over 120 inspection points, from sanitation and security to procedural compliance. Our food safety teams work closely with each customer’s Food Safety Team to tailor programs to their specific needs, ensuring safety is embedded in daily operations—not just during inspections.

Traceability and Risk Mitigation

Beyond certifications, NFI’s traceability systems are built to provide supply chain visibility in both directions—tracking products one step forward and one step back throughout their journey. This level of transparency allows NFI and its partners to respond quickly and precisely in the event of a recall or food safety concern, supporting more targeted actions that help protect consumers and reduce unnecessary product loss.

Traceability also delivers meaningful operational advantages, including stronger inventory insights, improved efficiency, reduced waste, and greater supply chain confidence for our customers. By enabling clearer, faster decision-making, NFI helps minimize delays and keep food moving safely and reliably from production to delivery.

A Trusted Partner in Food Safety

Food safety is not optional—it’s essential. NFI’s combination of certifications, experience, and proven audit performance makes us a trusted partner for food and beverage manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. Our commitment to following all government and customer requirements ensures that every item in our supply chain remains safe for the public. With NFI’s certified network, advanced traceability, and dedication to excellence, our customers can focus on delivering safe, high-quality food to consumers around the world.
