Winner Rides Home on a Harley Davidson
NFI, a leading full service third party supply chain solutions provider, recently hosted its 8th annual Truck Rodeo Grand Championship in Allentown, PA. This finale of driving expertise was the last in a series of five truck rodeos held across the U.S. by NFI in 2012.
Seventeen award winning truck drivers from Florida, Indiana, New Jersey and Texas competed in skillful driving challenges for the top prize, a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
But it was Bill Kaeberlein, of Wesley Chapel, FL who rode home on this brand new motorcycle. Bill, a 6-year employee of NFI, and his wife, Deborah, were so excited about the prize that they were overcome with emotion when they realized the trophy would be going home with them. In addition to the motorcycle, he also received a $500 gift certificate to the Harley Davidson store to purchase a helmet, gear and accessories.
“I just can’t believe it,” Kaeberlein exclaimed. “The course was tough but I took my time and relied on my training. Working at NFI is an amazing experience and winning a Harley is beyond words.”
Second place honors went to Elizabeth Royers of Pennsauken, New Jersey and third place to Terry Drake of Terra Haute, Indiana, both of whom won cash prizes, trophies and bragging rights.
Leading up to this Grand Championship, NFI drivers qualified at Truck Rodeos in Lebanon, IN; Cherry Hill, NJ; Waxahachie, TX, and Jacksonville, FL. The Truck Rodeo consists of events that challenge driver skill with truck maneuverability. More than 200 spectators cheered on the drivers as they navigated an obstacle course fashioned to test agility behind the wheel. The event promoted safe driving and smart thinking, acknowledging those employees who put an effort toward keeping the roads safe.
Philadelphia classic rock radio station 102.9 WMGK was at the event broadcasting music and interviewing the contestants. Participants of all ages enjoyed free games, a giant moon bounce and special giveaways.
